Flyer Monster

Pick the right print run.

How many flyers should I print?

There’s no magic number.

The right flyer quantity depends on how many people you want to reach, how many areas or locations you’re targeting and whether this is a one-off campaign or something you’ll keep using.

The good news? You don’t need to overthink it.

Flyer Monster keeps the standard choices simple: 1,000, 5,000, 10,000 or 25,000. Use the guide below to work out which one makes the most sense.

A simple way to work it out

  1. 1

    People / homes to reach

How many households, customers or people are in the area?

  2. 2

    How many drops

Are you doing one campaign or several?

  3. 3

    How many locations

One shop? Multiple venues? Several towns?

  4. 4

    How long you’ll use them

One weekend, one month or several months?

  5. 5

    Keep a little spare

A small buffer is useful for counter use, events, repeat handouts and unexpected opportunities.

Real-world examples

What does each quantity look like?

1,000 flyers

  • A café promoting a weekend event
  • A tradesperson covering a small local area
  • A new business testing its first offer
  • A pub advertising one event

5,000 flyers

  • A restaurant promoting across nearby neighbourhoods
  • A local retailer running a seasonal campaign
  • A gym targeting several surrounding areas
  • A business wanting enough stock for repeat handouts

10,000 flyers

  • A larger local campaign across several postcode areas
  • A multi-location business
  • An estate agent or service business running repeated drops
  • An agency managing a larger promotion

25,000 flyers

  • A large regional campaign
  • A chain or multi-site business
  • High-volume distribution
  • A long-running promotion with repeat drops

Planning a door drop?

The simplest way to estimate quantity is to work from the number of households or addresses you want to cover.

Know the number of homes? Use that as your base quantity and add a small buffer.

Don’t know it? Check local mapping or distribution data, or ask the company handling the drop.

Handing them out yourself?

Hand-to-hand usually uses fewer flyers than door-to-door, because you control where and when they go out. Think about:

  • Expected footfall
  • Event duration
  • Number of people handing them out
  • Number of locations
  • Flyers left on counters or tables

Running the same offer more than once?

A larger print run can make sense if the artwork will stay current and you expect to distribute repeatedly.

But don’t over-order if dates, prices, offers or contact details are likely to change soon.

Bigger runs = lower cost per flyer

Bulk flyer printing generally gets better value per flyer as the quantity goes up. Here’s the maths on our standard single-sided prices.

Approximate cost per flyer based on the single-sided flyer price only. £9.50 UK delivery is additional. See our flyer printing price guide.

1,000

£69

≈ 6.9p each

5,000

£119

≈ 2.4p each

10,000

£199

≈ 2p each

25,000

£349

≈ 1.4p each

Single or double sided?

Quantity is a separate choice. Got offers, menus, maps or lots of contact details? Double sided gives you more room. Simple message? Single sided may be enough.

What if I order too many?

Extras are handy for future handouts, counter stock, repeat drops and events.

Just avoid over-ordering if the design includes dates, temporary offers, short-term prices or anything likely to change.

What if I order too few?

Running out mid-campaign usually means another print order, more delivery time and less flexibility.

If you’re close between two quantities, stepping up can give you more flexibility for repeat drops, counter stock and events.
